The company's five hectars of ground are used for sowing different kinds of cereals, and for cultivating vegetables and fruit. All products deriving from the cultivations (wheat flour, mais, potatoes, tomatoes, vegetables and fruit etc.) are used by the landlady Mrs. Andreina for the preparation of her delicious dishes which are served daily to the guests. During the right season in the company's woods it is possible to pick up chestnuts. After the drying process the chestnuts are milled and transformed into a sweet flour. This flour is the base for Andreina's 'Pattone' and chestnut cakes (simple sweets of the territory) which can be enjoyed by the guests.
Moreover, you will find the precious pore mushrooms in the woods of the surroundings; these can be consumed immediately, dried or conserved under oil. Furthermore, the company breeds milk cows, goats, pigs (their meat is transformed into sausages etc.) and house animals. The milk is used for the daily consumption. The cultivations as well as the breeding are carried out following exclusively biological methods. Who wants, can participate in the various company works like e.g.: threshing cereals, milking, taking care of the animals, sowing and harvesting of various products.
The bread, the fresh pasta and the sweets are prepared daily. The jams, and the preserves are prepared with fresh products of the season, and they are used for the daily consumption and the sale to the guests, who spend their holidays in this natural place with. The flourishing vegetation, the village's silence, and the clean air are the necessary elements for refreshing body and soul.
We would like to point out that in less than half an hour by car you can reach, going along secure streets, the marvelous villages of the Cinque Terre, the Eastern coast (Tellaro, Fiascherino, Lerici, Portovenere, Levanto, Bonassola etc.) and so on. If you go on a little further you will reach the beautiful and characteristic sea villages of Sestri Levante, Lavagna, Chiavari, Rapallo, S. Margherita and Portofino. If you decide to remain in the surroundings, diving into the green and the rural reality of the high Vara Valley, you can go along the various streets, and discover the passes 'Bocco' and 'Cento croci' or even the various villages (Varese Ligure, Sesta Godano, Maissana, Carro, Zignago, Brugnato etc.) where present and past live together in perfect harmony.
And after having seen all the beauties of the Eastern Coast, and of the hinterland, you can return to the 'Boschetto', where you will be welcomed by the whole family Giosso. All of them are at your disposal in order to satisfy your appetite. The landlady knows all the secrets of the territory's typical dishes, and you will be able to enjoy all of them; here you will spend calm holidays, and eat well - an experience which you should repeat as soon as possible!
