Our B&B is situated in a perfect strategic position right behind the villages of the coast of the region Liguria. From here you can visit the coast (Cinque Terre, Lerici, Portovenere…) immediately, and at the same time you stay in a fresh and silent place with numerous naturalistic and cultural opportunities. From the small centre depart antique trails, which in the past connected Casale with the “Cinque Terre”, and with the hinterland (Brugnato, Varese and Parma), and which nowadays can be used by the vacationers for relaxing walks along the river and the small creeks. The external part of the building, which is one of the most antique buildings of the suburb of Casale, is characterized by gates, stairs, vaults and arches of stone; the main storefront is remarkable due to an interesting elevation and an alcove with a statue of Saint Bernhard.
Beyond this statue there are the signs of an antique sundial. Inside stairs of shale and sandstone lead you to bright and big rooms which offer place for 4 – 5 beds. All of them have there own bathroom. At the second floor there are two terraces: one of them is available for the guests, and there they can enjoy the sun during a warm day, or the freshness in the evening with a beautiful view over the river, the village and the rural surroundings. A third terrace belongs to a room. The whole building has recently been restructured with a lot of taste, and the rustic culture has been respected.
It has been tried to maintain every single detail like the numerous niches of the internal walls, the rests of a fireplace of an oven, the ceilings of wood, the cotto floors, the door sills and the windowsills of shale and sandstone and frames of stone. Currently the “Meridiana di Casale” welcomes the guests in five multiple rooms, which are perfect for families as three of them are structured like small apartments. All of them have there own shower, refrigerator bar, television with parabolic antenna and thermostat in order to control the temperature, and with telephone wall jack. The rooms are equipped with beds of wrought iron and with cupboards made of wood, trekking trails by foot, by bicycle or by horse, refrigerator with drinks in each room, daily cleaning service of the room and the bathroom, satellite tv, bedclothes and towels.
